I feel so free. It's as if a giant load has been lifted off of my back and I can finally move on with my life. I love this.

So, Oregon was pretty awesome.

I woke up at 3 AM on Saturday in order to catch my 6 AM flight to Portland through Denver. I wasn't too tired because I went to bed at 8:30 the night before, but I was still waking up at 3 in the morning. I slept for about an hour on the way to Denver and ended up having some crazy dream about the plane crash landing in Venezuela because a train and a logging company was on our runway. I know, I have the best dreams. A little after that we landed in Denver and were welcomed by snow, which brought delays. We barely made our connection flight, but we ended up sitting on the runway for an hour waiting to get de-iced.

We landed in Portland and drove to Fat Straw to meet up with CJ. That was really fun even though it ended up being over an hour shorter than was originally planned. My plane being delayed an hour and CJ having to leave early for a birthday party can be blamed for that. Directly after this I saw Paranormal Activity. Awesome movie, you should all go see it.  Overall it was a great day and I finally got to try out bubble tea.

The next day I got to go sturgeon fishing with my dad. It was about 35 degrees with 30 mph winds, but I got to catch a 9 foot long sturgeon so it didn't matter. I'll put the video up eventually?

Later that day we drove down to Corvallis for the real reason we were in Oregon. We explored the campus a little bit, but we saved most of it for our tour the next day. I had a campus tour in the morning and a dorm tour shortly after, but the best part was the private tour I had of the radiation center. I was shown all over the building where nuclear engineers would be and I even got to see the reactor. I picked a pretty good day to be there since that day was the 50th anniversary of nuclear engineering at Oregon State. I also found it funny that the day that I picked to be there was "National Coming Out Day." They were giving out free cake and had a two page spread in the newspaper of names of students and faculty members.

Oregon State was a great school to visit. It was really good overall and it will be hard for NC State to beat it, but we'll see.

I feel like I'm the only one putting forth any effort, can you just try something in response besides ignoring me?

October is going to be crazy. As of right now I might be in 7 different states in the next one and a half months. I might be going to Wisconsin to close up my cabin for the year this weekend. The week after that I'd be going to Iowa for my Grandpa's birthday and to visit Iowa State again. The next weekend I might be going to Oregon to check out Oregon State's Nuclear Engineering program. While there I'd obviously meet up with CJ because there would be no reason not to if I'm in Portland. The day that I'd get back from that I'm going to an ACDC concert in Chicago. Then I'd miss school on friday to travel to North Carolina to visit NC State and a nuclear power plant that my cousin's husband's dad works at. Then two weeks later I might be going to LA with my sister and my dad. If I'm in LA I'd attempt to meet up with Marian, Missy, and Patrick. I think the HP Disneyland thing would also be going on while I'm there, so I'd have to do that. Basically my life is going to be crazy for the next almost 2 months.

I'm loving how easy this school year is so far. I basically get no homework at all. it's amazing

Gym - No homework ever
AP Calc - Homework, but I love math and it's not even completely mandatory.
World Lit - Regular English. This is a joke compared to my class last year.
Latin IV - The exact same class as Latin 3 and I have another full year of experience
Econ - Fun class with my favorite teacher. Mostly in class group work and I'll be able to make money by investing in the company
Programming - Another fun easy class where almost all of the work is done at school
World Religions - I only took this class so that I could argue with the teacher. It doesn't take very much work to get a B in it, so I'm not worried because with the amount of bias against me in that class that's all I'll be able to manage.

I'll also have to start practicing chess again soon. If anyone who's reading this wants to play me in chess online, just tell me. I don't care if you aren't good, I just need need to practice.

Today is my last night of the summer before school starts on Monday. I really don't want to go back to school, but at the same time I kind of do. This summer has been completely amazing, but now that everything is over I'm fine with school starting. The best part of my summer, hands down, was Azkatraz. I can't even describe how good it was to be able to finally meet all of the people that I've become friends with over the past year. Chances are I won't be seeing any of these people again until Infinitus. There is a slight chance that I might see Sam or CJ, but I'm not sure if either of those will happen. I'm already counting down to Infinitus.
This school year should be relatively easy. The only hardish class I have is AP Government, but that isn't until second semester. I really hope AP Calc turns out to be a challenge. I haven't been challenged in math in a long time and it would be good to actually have to think while doing math homework. AP Calc and Econ are the only classes I'm looking forward to. Econ should be fun because I have Mr. T again. He is easily the best teacher I've ever had.

Anyone that has known me for a while might have notice that I tend to never swear. It's not that I'm against it, I just don't see the point of swearing for unnecessary reasons. Swears are meant to be another way to express emotion. If you abuse swears and use them freely in everyday conversation they have less of an effect when you are truly angry. I tend to reserve those words for something that actually warrants them. There is no reason to swear over something as small as missing a question on a test. There are other words that can be used in those situations.

I have a friend that never swears because he thinks it's a sin to swear no matter what. They are just words. There is no reason not to use them in an appropriate way. Every word can be used in the right context. it's when you abuse them that there becomes a problem. If my closest friends hear me swear they know something is wrong.

You might just think I'm weird, but I don't care.

Azkatraz! I'm not very good at writing blogs, so I'm probably just going to ramble about things that happened at Azkatraz. When I arrived at Azkatraz on Thursday I remember being in the lobby, seeing terrance, and asking where everyone else was. He pointed over by the bar where I saw Andy, Greyson, Becca, and a few other random people. After some awkward hellos Andy tackle hugged me and it was the start of a great weekend.

I went to dinner soon after that and when I got back I met Stephanie while she was talking to Matt Britton and she told me she got to hug Emerson. For the rest of the night everyone just hung out and Stephanie, Casey, Shannon, Kelly, and I decided that we'd go see HBP at 10:40 before the Leaky Mug that night. Everyone but Casey fell asleep at some point during the movie, but it was okay because most of us got to see the scenes we wanted to see. The Leaky Mug was pretty good and we all stayed after to talk to people until they kicked us out of the main room.

The next day I woke up and Stephanie and I went downstairs to meet CJ as she arrived. Most of the next two days was just a blur of hanging out with the LoE and elevator parties. I barely remember any specifics unless I look at pictures or try to think of a specific event. It all went by so fast.

The ball was really fun, but after the ball I was already starting to feel Post Potter Depression. Marian and CJ would be leaving the next day and the anticipation of this was already making me sad. Marian left pretty early, but CJ managed to postpone her leaving for a few hours. I went to bed pretty early after the Podcast Palooza because I was so tired from the previous nights. I left the next morning at 9:30, and I can't really describe how sad I was that Azkatraz is over. I've mostly gotten over post potter depression by now, but there is still that slight sadness that I probably won't be seeing any of these people again for an entire year. I feel like I've grown closer to all of them and I can't wait until I see them again at Inifnitus.

There is one thing that I didn't mention in here, but it was one of the best parts of the weekend. Overall Azkatraz was one of the best experiences i've had in a long time.

edit: EMILY IS THE BEST

This might be my first actual post, but I'm not sure. Don't expect me to post again for a while, but the last few days have been weird. First of all, HP the Musical is amazing. If you haven't seen it yet, go to youtube and watch it. Oh wait. You can't.  It's been taken down. They are afraid of lawyers so they have decided to temporarily remove it, which sucks. also Michael Jackson died yesterday. That was really unexpected. Even though I wasn't really that big of a fan of his music, he was still a cultural icon and I was sad when he died. Then today I find out that the MuggleSpace chat has been disabled. The whole thing is just really confusing and I don't know what to think of it. As of right now I feel that it would be good for it to be gone for about a week, but not much longer than that. And on a happier note. Azkatraz! It is going to be completely amazing in multiple ways. I can't wait for it at all.
